Happy New Year from all of us at A Dram of Destiny.
As we step into 2026, we want to say thank you to everyone who’s registered interest, shared a kind word, or simply said, “I’d love to be part of that.”
Because this isn’t just an event date on a calendar, It’s a night we’re building with real intention: 'a moment that will move the world' - proud, modern, and unmistakably Scottish.
Quiet online. Busy behind the scenes.
If things have felt a little quieter recently, it’s because the real work has been happening in the background.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been building the team around A Dram of Destiny, the people who can help turn a bold idea into a night that feels effortless for guests, while being executed with the precision a world-record attempt demands. We've been talking to partners and building the event's message.
The truth is: moments like this don’t “come together.”
They’re crafted, detail by detail, by people who care, and we've secured some amazing people to help us.
Early January: our first big step inside the Royal Highland Centre
Our next major milestone is an early January site visit at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh.
For us, this is where the dream becomes a plan.

We’ll be walking the space and beginning to map the full guest journey, from the first welcome to the final toast. It’s also where we start shaping the operational action plan that sits behind the magic: layout, flow, logistics, timings, and the practical steps required to support our World Record ambitions, but there are rules and guidelines we have to follow as we build towards success. For example we can't use the name of organisation that's adjudicating quite.
What happens after that?
Once the site visit is complete, we’ll be able to bring you closer to the build — with clearer updates and milestones, including:
Our event plan and timeline as it takes shape
Partner announcements as they’re confirmed
What guests can expect on the night (and what makes it truly premium)
How we’re preparing for two historic Record attempts
and so much more....
2026 is the year we gather the people
This year is about momentum — but it’s also about meaning.
A Dram of Destiny is a call to Scots at home and around the world, to whisky lovers, to Burns devotees, and to anyone who believes that culture still matters, that a room full of people, raising a dram together, can become something bigger than the sum of its parts.
If you haven’t already, register your interest so you’re first to hear about updates, ticket news, and partner announcements and please share with your kin.
We can’t wait to share what’s next.
And we can’t wait to hear you say it:
“I was part of it.” #IWASPARTOFIT
